The Mouse Biology Program (MBP)

Member Type: Research & Educational Institutions

The Mouse Biology Program (MBP) is an academic center of excellence at UC Davis encompassing teaching, research, and resources that emphasize the development and application of next-generation, precision mouse models of human and animal biology and disease in support of personalized medicine. The dedicated infrastructure, technical expertise, and professional scientists of the MBP are all available and accessible to the research community to develop, promote, and enhance the use of mouse model systems for understanding and resolving biological problems. The MBP develops, engages, and implements embryo manipulation, genome mutagenesis, and molecular, cellular, and whole animal phenotyping technologies to capitalize on the versatility of the genetically-altered mouse as a human surrogate in the preclinical research arena.
