The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network is hosting a half-day conference exploring the challenges of equitable pharmacogenomics research and testing for cancer patients. Pharmacogenomics (PGx) is the study of how genes impact individual responses to drugs.
The presentations during this conference will feature case studies illustrating historical inequities for certain groups of shared ancestry in the discovery of oncology-specific PGx markers and will describe the current state of PGx research and discovery.
