University of Arizona Health Sciences is the statewide leader in biomedical research and health professions training. The UA Health Sciences includes the UA Colleges of Medicine in Phoenix and Tucson, Nursing, Pharmacy and Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, with 5,000+ students on locations in Tucson and the growing Phoenix Biomedical Campus in downtown Phoenix.
In 2014, UAHS launched the Precision Health Initiative, creating the Center for Applied Genetics and Genomic Medicine (TCAG2M). TCAG2M focuses on the application of genetics and genomic biology and medicine to improve healthcare delivery for the people of Arizona. TCAG2M supports outstanding translational and clinical investigations into the etiology of disease and the development of infrastructure and novel approaches to manage these conditions in the clinical setting.
